600 handicapped children are left out of the school system in the poor Gegharkunik region of Armenia. In Armenia where people with handicaps or learning difficulties are wieved as having less potential than others it can be hard to convince parents that their handicapped children need to go to school. Surveys show that at least 700 children in the Gegharkunik region need special education. Despite that fact, the only school in the area for children with learning disabilities only has about 100 students even though it has room for twice as many.
In this issue you can read about the Managing Directors son, ten-year-old Philip Wikborg Hartzner, who visits the school with his own classmates.
