Hygiene and inclusion of vulnerable groups is on the agenda in the emergency response in Nepal.

Mission East and partners do follow-ups on hygiene education in the remote villages, while materials for more than 1,800 latrines has been distributed so far. The construction of latrines secures accessibility for elders, women, children and people with disabilities. Furthermore, Mission East’s Gender and Social Inclusion Specialist has provided training for staff in how to include these vulnerable groups.

Latrines have been distributed to earthquake victims in Nepal together with tools to clear the ground.

As the emergency response after the earthquakes in Nepal is drawing to a close, Mission East and Medair have started focusing on reconstruction.
